Daniel Rodriguez, founder and president of Rodriguez & Associates, will speak at the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) 44th Annual Conference, taking place September 3–5, 2026, at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
On Thursday, September 3, Daniel will join fellow trial attorneys for the session “Telling the Human Story,” a two-hour program focused on the role the human story plays throughout the litigation and trial process. Daniel will open the program with “The Human Story Defined,” sharing insights from more than four decades of experience as a trial lawyer.
Telling the Human Story in the Courtroom
For Daniel, the topic is closely connected to an approach to trial advocacy he has practiced and taught throughout his career: understanding the person behind the case and communicating that story in a way that is authentic, relatable, and meaningful to a jury.
Daniel has been an instructor at the Gerry Spence Method College since 2009 and teaches an annual three-week intensive program for trial lawyers. The Spence Method emphasizes self-awareness, authenticity, communication, and storytelling, helping attorneys develop a deeper understanding of their clients and cases and communicate those stories effectively throughout a trial.
Daniel was also the first recipient of the Gerry Spence Trial Warrior of the Year Award, recognizing his commitment to trial advocacy and the principles at the heart of the Spence Method.
A Commitment to Teaching and Trial Advocacy
In addition to his work at Rodriguez & Associates, Daniel is frequently invited to teach and lecture on trial skills for legal organizations, including the Consumer Attorneys of California and the American Association for Justice. His work with other trial attorneys reflects his belief that effective advocacy requires more than knowledge of the law. It requires empathy, authenticity, preparation, and the ability to communicate the human experience at the center of a case.
His presentation at CAALA continues that longstanding commitment to sharing what he has learned in the courtroom and helping other trial lawyers become stronger advocates for the people they represent.
